Hey I just wanted to add… if you’re not very firm with your kids, you may end up sleeping here for the next oh, 3 weeks with your kids like I did. lol. But, we loved it (I even loved it for the first night….).

My mom made me a TDSC and watched cartoons with me for two days when I had the flu and couldn’t go camping with the girl scouts. She made trail mix and brought me a basket for books and stuffed friends. It was the first time I went “camping” (and put off me going camping until I was in my teens) and… it has really stuck with me. Your kids will really appreciate this, fifteen years from now, away from home and wishing they had an appropriate way to thank you for something a little silly and a little small that really stuck with them.

Thanks, Marie! I got the lights on sale from Pier One, which is the only way that I can buy things from Pier one, about two years ago. It was an end of summer sale and I scooped them up for my back porch. I love that they look as if they could be hand made at home. I bet Martha would have some instructions on how to do something similar.

OK this is just wonderful! I remember making these when I was young. I am definitely going to turn out table into one of these – the kids will love it! And the lights – perfect! We have a string of bunny lights we can use. I’m sure I can get frustrated enough this weekend to let the kids make one lol!!
