Hope your Halloween was as enchanting as ours.
Marlena was princess Anneliese. This is her third year as a princess. She had so much fun! She started planning her costume about 6 months ago.

Aidan was supposed to be an astronaut, but at the last minute decided that he didn’t want anything to do with his very expensive costume. He refused to pose for pictures, and it was all we could do to get him to put the helmet on for 5 minutes before trick or treating. Last year he was a bunny and he refused to wear the bunny ears that I made for him. I wish I could find the pictures from then. He was a grumpy two year old bunny with the cutest cotton tail pinned to his overalls. I had even painted a cute bunny nose and whiskers on his face, but when I showed him what he looked like in the mirror, he started to cry and scream for me to take it off. Ah well, maybe next year he’ll get the swing of this dressing up thing.
Hope went as a 6 month old baby, and Barry and I went as tired parents. ;~)
I gotta tell you, I felt pretty lame this year. I only decorated our fireplace mantel. We did go to the pumpkin patch for a hayride and corn maze fun, but we didn’t take any pumpkins home to carve. I kept thinking that I would get around to it, and then it was too late. I’m hoping that as the kids get older I’ll have the energy to decorate the house and yard, carve silly pumpkins, make costumes, dress up myself, and do all this while keeping my sanity. ;~)

Cute costumes
Ah, they’ll never remember that you didn’t decorate as much this year…the sugar rush will cover everything up
You’re being way too hard on yourself – your mantel looked great! And yes, you’ll have plenty of time in years to come to go bonkers on the pumpkins and such. Just remember: The first two years with 3 kids are the hardest, and then it’s MUCH easier. So you only have another 18 months to go!
We missed you out with the fun of trick-or-treating. The kids look wonderful. They will remember the candy and the fun of dressing up. EG was so excited this year to dress up and get candy, that’s all he cares about. We put up paper cut out of bats and mice, did one craft and carved our pumpkins on the 1st (I’m trying to keep Halloween purely kid decorated!) Next year it is a Saturday – you have all day to squeeze in the fun.
Cute!
