japanesefabrics

Imagine my squeal of delight when I walked into my local quilt shop and saw that they had some Japanese Fabrics! I quickly made a pile of six 1/2 yard pre-cuts, thought about how it was still the middle of the month, and put three back. That was very hard to do. I love the three that I kept. What to make??? So many ideas are in my head. Keep your fingers crossed that they don’t stay on the fabic shelf long enough to collect dust.

You should see the “I Spy” quilt Mom gave to EG for his birthday. All these squares of different fabric and poem to help him look for things. She backed it with flannel and it’s just the right size to snuggle and read under.

With that beautiful fabric staring at you, you’ll be super motivated to sew something. The first thing that pops into my mind are pillow cases for you kiddos or even a duvet cover. My neighbor made them all the time by sewing cute fabric to a solid flat sheet. Slip the comforter inside and viola!

  • I love the idea of an I Spy quilt too. I plan on making one for Moira one of these days and have been collecting little bits of fun (but not tacky!) fabric here and there.
