Today we had a small birthday party for Aidan. Since he is fascinated with outer space and rocket ships, we decided to go with that as a theme. Our good friend, Kell, made a rocket ship for Aidan using cardboard portfolios from an art store. Aidan and Marlena spent the entire morning planet hopping.

The photos were sporadic today. I have been on the go since my feet hit the floor this morning; well, except for that little break when the kids were asleep, the couch looked inviting, and I gave into whipped chocolate frosting temptation.

I got to thinking this morning, after reflecting on last night’s VP debate, that while my main focus of this week is my time with the kids and my movements around the house, I do think that it is very important that I document some of the very important social and “signs of the times” [...]

I ended up not journaling at all today. It has been a surprising amount of work to try and capture moments throughout the day and write about them too. So today I just observed and thought that I would do some brief journaling at the end of the day as I review the pictures.
