So things have been a little slow on the blog lately because I have been reading the Lord of the Two Lands volumes by Pauline Gedge. Thanks for the recommendation, Kate! I just finished them up a few days ago. The Hippopotamus Marsh Lord of the Two Lands (volume 1) The Oasis Lord of the Two [...] I just got my copy of the creative family by Amanda Blake Soule today! I am so excited about this book. I only recently discovered Amanda’s blog, SouleMama. She inspires me to appreciate, embrace, and enjoy this time in the lives of my young children. I look forward to reading this book and doing the [...] I just finished up bel canto by Ann Patchett (Hey, who says I have to stare at the wall during marathon nursing sessions?) and I highly recommend it. I can always tell when I really like a book because I don’t want it to end; I keep hoping that more pages will magically appear [...] …these two books that I checked out from the library, and an ice cream sandwich. Well, okay, maybe two ice cream sandwiches. I’m so excited about these books. I’ve seen them highlighted on so many blogs, and I just love the projects. I can’t wait to get started on some of them. Because she writes paragraphs like this one: Nell felt intimidated by this marriage, and small and childish in comparison with it. It had a certain oversized and phosphorescent splendour about it, like a whale decaying on a beach. It made her seem pallid, banal, insipidly wholesome.
